Campers
Our first camper was a Peugeot J9 very nice, but
heavy and a too small engine. However we used the camper in te Netherlands only
so no problem at all (flat country and not being in a hurry). After a few years
the camper did not pas the state inspection, so an other camper was needed or
return to the Tent something I did not like.

Lucky me it rains a lot in Holland. So after some rain Maja told me to look for an other
camper for the next season.
We found a very nice camper at a dealer ship who was willing to trade our
Peugeot camper for a decent price. It is a Mitsubishi L300 with original camper
equipment, the car is never used different.
She is fitted with one two
person bed and one 1 person bed. Since we are mostly together the 2 person bed
can remain and we still have room to sit and eat. We are very pleased with our
new camper and hope to use it a lot the coming seasons. Maja
was not able to drive in the Peugeot camper due to short legs and far away
pedals, in this camper she fits as well as I do. We had the Mits for about 5 years and never any trouble.
After moving to the new house the neighbors started to complain concerning the
size of the Camper. Since we had to return the Lease Car we started looking for
a smaller camper which could also be used as second car.Click on the picture to enlarge use return to go back to this page

November 2005
The Mits was put for sale and we looked for a VW Westfalia, or look a like.
After some time we did not suceed in selling the
Camper so I contacted a Dealer.
On a Saturday in November a had to go to Germany for sometime (work) and I drove along a Westfalia
dealer in Wageningen. He had one for sale year 1981.
The camper was nice and drove well. However the moment the dealer understood
how I was gooing to use the camper he advised me to
have a newer one with a stronger engine. The 81 was fitted with a regular 1600
Diesel and the newer one was fitted with a 1600 Turbo Diesel.
So I test drove the newer camper (1986) This camper was inside in new condition
and the outside was not bad. After some talking it turned out that the dealer designed, a long time ago, the Mits
Camper and he wanted to trade with a little extra payment from mine side.
We are very pleased with the Westfalia, only I
one bad thing I crashed her, not too badly but still stupid.

April 2006
The Joker had been used several times as regular car and I was going to love
her even more.
April 2006 we were having our first short vacation with the joker to France,
only then you find out the real good things of a small camper. She drives likes
a regular car but now with a reasonable living room and sleeping possibility.
During this trip we started talking having a more luxury version with power
steering and less kilometers. We returned from France on Thursday and the next
Friday we had to visit somebody close to the camper dealer. At the moment a
bought the camper the dealer told me that by trading the camper within one year
he should pay me the same price I paid for her. We were thinking about a T4
having a bigger engine (more power). The camper we felt in love with was
far above our budget but anyhow we took her for a test drive and felt even more
in love. After counting the money we decided to buy her anyhow. The camper has
driven only a few km (160000) and looks completely new inside and outside.
Although the fact the T4 looks much bigger then the
T3 the living room of the T4 is much smaller as it is in the T3, however
driving is great.
The camper will be used the coming season for several weekends and
for a vacation to Denmark and former eastern Europe. See
vakantie 2006 (dutch only)

Also in 2007 we took the T4 for a long trip through France Spain and Portugal
almost 6000 km. We still loved the T4 but for the long time she is too small.
We started looking for an other camper and found the
Fiat La Strada Avanti
Let's say we will keep this camper for a longer time. But what is for sure in
this world

OKE Nothing is for sure in this world so neither with us. At the
end of 2007 Ineke started working at the TNT (mail)
as a chauffeur at a Mercedes Sprinter. She was always telling things about the
Sprinter, such what a great car etc, I had my own thoughts about it. However at
the end of 2008 I had to help her and drove the Sprinter. That was the moment I
said MY NEXT CAMPER IS A SPRINTER.
However I started a renovation on the La Strada, new matrasses fixed water tank
etc.

Early 2009 it was all finished, but still I wanted a Sprinter. After our
vacation of 2009 we saw a Sprinter we could not let go. We had some money left
and decided to buy this camper. The Sprinter is built in 2002 and in new
condition, but needed extra rear windows. Was the T4 a nice car but a little too
small, Was the La Strada big enough but very slow (no turbo). The Sprinter has
it all, Drives great, lots of room, Air-conditioning and automatic shifting
(something Ineke does not like but she accepted). What else to say the extra
windows are done and the camper is ready.
Although the fact we liked the
sprinter very much , we decided to sell the sprinter end of March 2021.

At the start of 2021 I had the idea to sell both, the camper and Suzuki and buy
a smaller camper to be used as single car such like a VW T5 or Mercedes Vito.
However we changed our mind soon, due to the fact we like the Suzuki too much and a VW and/or Marco Polo is
too expensive and actually too small. Due to that we decided not to sell and/or
buy.
But I remained looking on the internet and found a very
nice Mercedes Vito (self built DIY) we phoned the owner and went for a look and
test drive and yes we bought the camper and decided to keep the Suzuki also.
The very same day we advertised the sprinter and sold the sprinter next day. We
now have a smaller camper and stil the Suzuki. We both both are 70 years old now
and dying with money we don't like we rather spent it, which is the reason we
traded the Suzuki for a BMW 328i Cabrio (refer to our cars.

All the above written has been changed again we sold the
Vito because we were not able to use her due to health problems. This decision
cutt off a part of my live however somtimes you have to make decisions you don't
like.
Berlingo Mini Camper number 1
Due to the fact I always need to do something and because the BMW could not be
fitted with a hook I decided to start looking for a Citroen Berlingo (or look a
like) with a hook. I wanted to rebuilt the car to a minicamper. I found a nice
Berlingo (cheap) and built in camper possibilities. Building it gave me
much fun, however I never used it and sold it after finishing and decided to do
it all over again.

Berlingo Mini Camper number 2
I did not make any provit (a small lose) but I bought myself a very nice Gold
color Berlingo of 2008 with a so cald modu roof. This wil be a real multi
vehicle, the rear seats can remain fitted. It wil be a person car in which you can sleep/cook with two however less
space for lugage, with the rear seats removed there is plenty of room for
sleeping, cooking, traveling and so on below the design driving/sleeping
and some picturers of the rebuilding result.

Mitsubishi L300 Long
The Berlingo was great drove perfect and was full of options however not an
oldtimer, for that reason i started looking for a VW T2 or T3 Westfalia. Found
some but all too expansive looked at some but nice on the pictures in real not
that nice and to be honest too small for me (read I am too big). I decided to
stop looking but mny middle name is <Never Give Up> so I found my self a
very nice Mitsubishi (original) camper (Reimo) of 29 years old with only one
option (fifth gear) driving such a car is realy a step back in time. However
more comforteble then a T2 and or T3.
Plymouth Grand Voyager
I really loved the Mitsubishi but I found a very special camper with all kind of
options I like a lot. Had a look at the camper drove her and bought her and put
the Mitsubishi for sale. The voyager is very special and probably
the only one driving in the Netherlands. However again a problem the
radio has no USB input and/or blue tooth.
