Early 2001 all Dutch farmers do have a problem with their cattle and other
animals, I don't know the English name for it.
Due to that animal decease it is not allowed to have large happenings in those
infected areas. For that reason the eleven city tour was cancelled.
However we had paid for our camping and were able to go with a small group.
Although it was not such a big happening as it should be we did have a lot of
fun.
We took the Mobylettes, the Sparta Twin and Maja
her Honda CM400T. Arriving on Thursday noon. The very same day we took the Mobylettes for a small tour in the area together with two friends. I told
anybody to remind me to fill up Maja's moped and as you can imagine nobody did.
After a few miles Maja's moped stopped because she ran out of gas. Two of us
went to a gas station on the way back to the ladies mine Moped stopped. We made
it to the ladies with a lot of problems. My moped kept running badly and finally
back on the camping I repaired the dammed thing. The next day we went out for
the next tour on the moped. Mine moped started easily and stopped almost the
same time. That day we took the motorbikes for a tour.
Same evening we repaired the moped again and now she kept running smoothly Up till
now I have no idea what we did wrong.
Saturday we had the main tour with some other
friends and again lots of problems:

Sparta Twin running badly (only one spark plug). Cleaned the spark and
all looked OK for just 5 minutes. Cleaned the plug again, same problem. Both
the plugs were brand-new. Lucky for me somebody had a old plug exchanged the
plug the Sparta is now running smoothly. delay about 30 minutes |
| Kils Joppe (Harley)
A jell, I lost something, Maja was on the fasted bike so she hurried to the
front rider and stopped the group. Kils lost something of his clutch and was
not able to drive on. Since we had no car following us we parked the Harley
at somebody's back yard Kils took Maja's Honda and Maja became passenger by Sjaak on his Suzuki.

20 minutes after the lunch stop Harm said "I ran out of gas" very
stupid since we stopped 10 minutes before at a gas station.
Maja and Sjaak went for gas which took some time. |
| Guus (Vespa 150 sprint)
After stopping for one of the almost 1000 bridges in Friesland Guus wanted
to start his Vespa. No way, tried to push her on, no way, we checked
everything but found no problem. Tried the kick starter again and you imagine
she started.
